Recover in Comfort at Freedom Center
The Freedom Center Facility
Going Beyond The Basics
Truly, quitting any vice is a long-term journey and it requires severe changes in many areas of life. But if this makes you feel frightened, don’t be: that is exactly why facilities like The Freedom Center exist, to help anyone through the multiple steps of recovery.
The idea of going through this process might seem like a lot for some, which is why we brought together a team of capable specialists that can cover all the bases in order to help you achieve true recovery.
Addiction treatment is not easy, but there are things that can make it more pleasant. Healthy environments are everything in rehab; this can make or break your recovery experience. For this reason, our treatment facilities are located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Those within the Gaithersburg community have a high quality of life. Not only that, but their county school system is one of the best in the country.
Embarking on a new journey is a big step; this is why choosing the right treatment facility matters. Whether you’re choosing treatment in Maryland because of the convenience of living here or are visiting a Maryland facility for a change of scenery, Montgomery County is a great place to consider for your recovery needs.
Recovering from substance abuse can be extremely difficult, and it’s okay to be uncomfortable in the process. We at the freedom center, however, will do everything we can to offer comfortability. This in no way impacts our efficiency or quality of care negatively, but instead, it enriches the rehab experience and makes for a successful recovery.
Each patient who walks through our doors will have access to our facilities and others who struggle the same way they do. Whether they’re therapy rooms, game rooms, or purely areas of relaxation, our facilities were built intentionally to help patients relax during their tenure.
Our Treatment Options
We at The Freedom Center understand how important it is to be able to keep to a routine while receiving treatment. So our recovery program in Maryland was built with that in mind. We do not require an around-the-clock stay at our facilities like inpatient or residential treatments do.
The options we offer were designed based on an outpatient treatment structure so that our patients can get additional support by being in contact with their loved ones while going through the program. Also, being able to work or study while going through the program can be a great way to stay motivated as you keep up with life outside of treatment.
One might feel an immense amount of pressure while choosing the right setting for themselves. Knowing whether or not a certain setting works for you is imperative to your success in the program. At The Freedom Center, our team will give you a medical assessment so that your needs can be addressed thoroughly within the context of your recovery journey.
Once that’s figured out, you can be assigned to the program that is the best fit for you, and you can have a schedule prepared.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
At The Freedom Center, we offer a partial hospitalization program (PHP), which is considered to be a slight step above outpatient treatment in terms of intensity. In partial hospitalization programs, patients are required to attend treatment daily. Treatment could average anywhere from five to six days a week for six hours.
PHP provides a vast amount of medical attention to patients. This makes the program ideal for those who are suffering from more severe cases of substance abuse. For those who want to transition into life outside of treatment gradually, this program makes sense.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are treatment options that find themselves somewhere between residential and outpatient treatment. As far as its structure is concerned, IOPs mimic that of an outpatient program while allowing individuals to participate in more activities than an outpatient program does.
For those who suffer from milder cases of a substance use disorder, IOP is the ideal form of treatment. Those who don’t pose a danger to themselves or anyone else and have less of a chance of relapse are also considered fit for an IOP. In programs like these, patients will spend the majority of their time outside of a treatment center. That being said, safe environments and support from family members and loved ones are imperative.
Is Outpatient Treatment Right For You?
Outpatient treatment consists of patients spending anywhere between 10-12 hours per week in treatment. During this time, they’ll have access to professional therapists and psychiatrists to help them with their recovery journey. This form of care is ideal for those who suffer from mild addiction. This particular type of treatment could last anywhere between 3 months to over a year depending on the individual. Those who participate are free to reside in the comfort of their own homes and are not required to attend overnight treatment.
It’s difficult to discern as to which treatment option will best fit one’s recovery needs, and this is why it is important to understand oneself in regard to substance abuse recovery. Certain kinds of treatment work well for certain individuals. Every patient that walks through the door is unique, and no one’s story is exactly the same as the other. That being said, there is no cookie-cutter treatment method; outpatient treatment may be best for one person, but not the other. The other may require more intensive care like an IOP or residential treatment.
If you have a family history of mental disorders or addiction, or if you suffer from another psychiatric condition, you need to talk about it so these factors can be taken into account. They won’t necessarily stop you from being able to start an outpatient program, but they will affect how your treatment will work, and the professionals responsible for treating you will have to know as much as possible about it. Nonetheless, our team is prepared to take care of even some of the most intense cases of dual diagnosis, so long as the patient meets the diagnostic criteria.
Even with the benefit of letting patients go home daily, outpatient treatment might take longer, and demands commitment, time, reliable transportation, and strong support systems at home. While being cheaper than most residential treatments because it doesn’t require constant medical supervision, this means the patient will need to be stronger and be up to the challenge of applying what they learn and understand during treatment in their daily lives from the start.
More Than Therapy
Compared to other treatment centers in Maryland, we bring more to the table than some might anticipate. For example, we provide resources to help you refine any areas of your life that need improvement. We do this by providing psychiatric and medical aid to those who need it within the context of their journey to sobriety.
The bulk of what we do consists of both therapy and counseling. Not only that, but we also offer holistic treatment options such as meditation and yoga. We do this in order to help the body reach a particular sort of balance. This allows individuals to improve their bodies and minds. Being that we want to see our patients succeed in both their bodies and minds, we also encourage healthy dieting habits in order that they may be the best they can be physically and mentally.
In addition to all of this, we also believe that encouragement coming from loved ones is imperative to the recovery journey. For this reason, we include family and peer activities to bring the people who matter most together so that sobriety and stability can be achieved to its fullest potential.
A recovery-oriented lifestyle is the most important part of recovery and post-recovery life. At The Freedom Center, we believe that aftercare support groups encourage the restructure of networks as patients recover. Sober activities, volunteer opportunities, and 12-step programs are all a part of the plan.
The 12-step programs, volunteer opportunities, and sober activities are just tools we use to encourage recovery and help it cement in the lives of those who participate. Our overall goal is to help patients develop healthy and sober habits in order that they may live lives of sobriety and stability and become completely independent.
Our philosophy at The Freedom Center is to not just treat the symptoms, but look at the cause first. In order to meet people where they are, we have to first understand them. By doing this, we help them to become the best versions of themselves so that they can enjoy their lives beyond the walls of the treatment center.
How To Best Contact Us
At The Freedom Center, we do our best to meet each individual where they’re at. Each person comes with a different mold – a different struggle. The best way we can help them is to offer them care that is unique to their own situation; there is no one-size-fits-all method to substance abuse treatment.
