Now sober, Quince Orchard grads help others with addiction recovery center in Gaithersburg

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (ABC7) — Three old friends, all graduates of Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, have opened The Freedom Center to help recovering addicts find a way back to a life free from drugs.
ABC7’s Kevin Lewis talks with two of the men about their own recoveries and how they are trying to pay it forward.

Addiction Treatment Center in Gaithersburg Opens This Week

A new addiction treatment center opened this week in Gaithersburg, Maryland to service the greater Washington D.C. area.
After establishing drug rehabilitation centers in New Hampshire and Florida, the new facility’s co-founders — who grew up and attended school together — felt they should give back to their hometown. The new facility, named the Freedom Center, specializes in intensive outpatient addiction treatment services. It is currently staffed by physicians, a peer recovery specialist, volunteers and counselors, including those who are in addition recovery. Read More…

GAITHERSBURG , MD — A new outpatient addiction treatment facility in the Greater Washington DC area is now offering a hard-to-find extended treatment for drug and alcohol addiction and mental healthcare.
The Freedom Center in Gaithersburg opened Sept. 4. It now provides flexible treatment solutions for those looking to overcome addiction without uprooting their daily lives. QOHS Grads Open Intensive Outpatient Addiction Treatment Center

If someone had told Quince Orchard High graduate James Scribner at his 2004 graduation that in 14 years, he and two of his QO friends, all three in recovery from addiction, would be moved to start a Gaithersburg-based center offering intensive outpatient treatment for drug and alcohol substance use disorder, Scribner would have been perplexed.
