If a Loved One Suffers from Addiction
The Freedom Center stands ready to help when families and relationships are torn apart by addiction. If you are concerned that someone you know may suffer from an addiction, the first step is to evaluate the situation objectively.
The Freedom Center has created a list of Family & Friends FAQs to help you make this determination.
If you believe someone you care about has an addiction, we offer two options:
- Assistance and counsel from our staff. Contact us to discuss a Family Intervention and ways to broach the subject in a calm and supportive manner. If the person is willing, we’ll make preparations to begin outpatient treatment.
- Support group for family and friends of addicts. As someone involved with an addict, you may feel that your own life is spinning out of control. You may feel isolated, confused, neglected, abandoned, abused, afraid or alone. In our Partners of Addicts Support Group, you’ll experience a compassionate, nurturing environment in which you can share experiences with others in similar situations. With assistance from a trained and experienced member of our staff, you will begin the process of healing.
Freedom Center offers a weekly aftercare group for the graduates and parents for the Betty Ford Children’s Program. The meetings are for children ages (7yrs to 12yrs) of age.
This program helps the child build greater skills and understanding with:
- Treatment& Recovery
- Coping & Expressing Feelings
- Problem Solving
- Getting Support & Safety
Parents and care givers are provided additional help in caring for themselves through group support and learning skills to better respond to stress.
