After years in the addiction treatment field, Laurence Freedom became dissatisfied with the results of traditional treatment models. His experience confirmed that there was a connection between a person’s whole well-being and successful recovery. This connection was not being fully addressed by traditional treatment programs. He knew that to have a successful long term recovery, the whole person needs to experience greater health, joy and well being in addition to abstinence from mood altering substances. Laurence’s ideas were being validated by the latest holistic and scientific studies. He searched for programs that were |

progressive in their methodology, that were open to using this new data to enhance treatment outcomes as well as applying traditional proven addiction treatment interventions in helping addicts and alcoholics get clean and sober. In 2000, unable to find such a program, Laurence created The Freedom Center - an addiction treatment program that combines a new school of whole person treatment (mind, body, emotion and spirit) with old school understanding and treatment strategies. Taking the best of both worlds of addiction treatment ... creating a treatment environment that is exciting, common sense and successful.
The Freedom Center was founded on the premise that alcohol and drug dependency is a treatable disease that affects all facets of an individual. This disease is caused by part(s) of a person not functioning in a healthy, balanced manner. In essence, the person has lost their inner balance – their inherent wholeness. If the balance is restored between the body, mind, heart and spirit, we regain our freedom to choose a healthy, fulfilling, sober life.
